Chocolate mint is not toothpaste.

Chocolate mint is not toothpaste.

Sturm Panzer - Chocolate mint is not toothpaste.

Chocomint is for the summer, and it's not toothpaste!

We who love ChocoMint are called "ChocoMin-Tou."

Every year, as the rainy season starts and summer begins, the ChocoMin-Tou eagerly awaits the release of ChocoMint ice cream and sweets at convenience stores and supermarkets.

In 2022, Akagi Milk Industry's "Shin Garigari-kun Ultra Choco Mint," a collaboration with the movie "Shin Ultraman," is fresh in our memories. That was delicious. I had many of them. It was lacto ice cream, but the refreshing feeling typical of Garigari-kun was perfect for chocolate mint. ChocoMin-Tou sometimes receives humiliating words from ordinary people — words spoken without any malice.

"Doesn't ChocoMint taste like toothpaste??"

How many times have we heard these words? We cannot let slide that word, which is a blasphemy to all ChocoMint lovers.

Chocomint tastes like chocomint — it is absolutely not toothpaste. On behalf of the ChocoMin-Tou nationwide, I make my case in the form of a yo-yo.

"Chocolate mint is not toothpaste."

This yo-yo is a summer-only product.
It will be available from June through the end of September.

It is rare for a full metal yo-yo to be sold for a limited time period rather than a limited quantity.

This model is a summer-only release by Sturm Panzer. The combination of the summery flavor — or rather, summer-themed coloring and artwork — along with the unique name "Chocolate Mint is not Toothpaste." makes for a wonderful piece. Note that the period at the end (—not toothpaste.) is part of the name.

Mr. Usuino, a leading expert in yo-yo mechanics, was in charge of designing the body. The design theme given to Mr. Usuino was "a yo-yo that is light, small, and turns into ice cream when flipped upside down." Taking this theme to the extreme, a round shape was adopted that, when disassembled and stacked, can mimic a double scoop of chocolate mint ice cream. The bearing is a size D — typical of Sturm Panzer — giving it an undersized, compact, and lightweight feel, yet with a centered stability that is surprisingly resistant to wobble.

The axle is a custom-made "CP-15 M3.5 Bose Hex Axle" with a special diameter. This improves strength, covering both resistance to breakage and the durability of the bearing lock. In addition, holes for hex wrenches are included on both sides, making it easier to handle.

Manufacturer's Comments

  • 2026 shipment: This product is a summer-only item. To keep manufacturing costs down and maintain the sales price, the 2026 shipment comes with a non-brand curved bearing that is prone to rust.
  • Rust-resistant replacement bearings are available separately: CP-06 D9 Ball Bearing or CP-18 Double V Bearing. Replacement is at your own risk.
  • The response pad is CP-09 Blade Attack Pad (Economy).
  • The axle is a CP-15 M3.5 Bose Hex Axle. It can be removed with a commercially available M3 hex wrench.
  • Small scratches, stains, uneven coloring, machining marks, etc. may occur during manufacturing, assembly, and shipping, but these are considered part of the product specification.
