The Moon Shine is a departure from the contest-minded designs of the Jackknife and Expedition; as a tug-response yo-yo with a retro design, it's made purely for the fun of yo-yoing, with an old-school feel. It's rare to see full metal yo-yos this narrow, let alone a tug-response model. While it has the nostalgia of the pre-bind-response era, Moon Shine still carries the heft of precision full-metal design. Especially for players that are new to yo-yo, this provides an interesting step up before you go to full bind-response, giving you a chance to feel the difference that metal can make.

And when you're ready for it, use the included extra axle (M4x10mm) and size C bearing to upgrade the Moon Shine to a full bind response yo-yo.
