The Spyder has garnered much love from the yo-yo community since its release in 2009. Now, two and a half years later, SPYY has released an update, in the form of the undersized Spyder2. With a new logo design true to its name, the Spyder2 leaps from string to string with the agility and speed of a small spider.
The biggest change from the original Spyder is that the edge has been drastically cut down, maintaining the slick rounded shape of the first Spyder but still giving you the benefits of a low edge. This gives you even more sleep than the original, with a surprisingly stable base.
Also worthy of mention, the Spyder2 features a double-stepped outside rim, designed to easily land and maintain thumb/finger grinds. Even if you aren't a fan of the original, if you like thumb grinds the Spyder2 will quickly make a believer out of you.
